Rustic Expansion for West Coast Transplants
With a three-story addition and renovation, this family of four from California wanted to incorporate West Coast living in their NJ colonial. On the first floor, we expanded and renovated their small, outdated galley kitchen to accommodate their love of cooking. It was also important to them to have a year-round outdoor living space to use an extension of their home. Off the kitchen, a wall of glass holds doors that open out to the rustic screened-in porch, complete with heaters and skylights on a vaulted ceiling. An additional bedroom and laundry room were gained on the second floor, and the third floor was converted into an expansive primary suite — complete with a bedroom, bathroom and open living space.
